About Me
Alah Elasmar is a registered dietitian and an Integrative and Functional Nutrition Certified Practitioner (IFNCP) based in Dallas, Texas. She is the founder of Made with Barakah - a functional nutrition private practice that emphasizes a holistic, root-cause approach to health, focusing on gut and hormone health.
Alah earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Foods from the University of Houston. She furthered her education with advanced functional nutrition training from The Integrative and Functional Academy (IFNA), in partnership with The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM). Additionally, she has studied Islamic Sciences and Classical Arabic at Institutions in Palestine and Istanbul.
My approach goes beyond creating meal plans; it involves an understanding of your history and lifestyle, diet and food habits, symptoms, preferences, functional lab testing, and health goals to create a personalized care plan made just for you while integrating lifestyle factors, stress management tools, and mindfulness practices.
No two individuals are alike, and neither should their nutrition plans be. Our personalized care plans are designed to meet your specific needs, considering your goals, preferences, and any health challenges you may be facing.
In her practice, Alah addresses various health concerns, including weight management, SIBO, diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), thyroid health, hormone imbalances, and overall gut health. Her approach integrates meal planning, the use of conventional and functional lab testing to address various root causes, therapeutic diets, and emphasizes the mind-body connection, as well as lifestyle habits such as sleep, exercise, and stress management.
You can find her getting her daily steps in, baking sourdough bread, making batches of homemade yogurt, or trying out new cafes with family and friends!
