About

Hi, I’m Ashley Peters, a registered dietitian passionate about helping people heal their relationship with food and their bodies.

I began my career providing nutrition one on one sessions to college students at the University of Illinois. As a new dietitian I found myself asking:

Why would I encourage people to count calories, restrict delicious foods, or track every step when that’s not how I live my own life?

That was the turning point. I realized that the traditional dietetics training I received focused on weight loss, restriction, and rigid “nutrition rules” didn’t align with my values, my relationship with food, or the kind of support my clients truly needed.

Instead, I noticed that my natural way of eating already aligned with the principles of Intuitive Eating: honoring hunger and fullness, enjoying food without guilt, and trusting my body to guide me. From there, I dove deep into learning how to help my clients unlearn diet culture and rebuild trust with themselves.

Working with college students also led me to support individuals struggling with eating disorders. That experience sparked a deep commitment to this work, and for the past decade, I’ve devoted myself to helping people navigate anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, ARFID, disordered eating, and chronic dieting.

My approach is direct, compassionate, and rooted in creating a safe space where we can challenge unhelpful food rules, process the impact of diet culture, and discover a way of eating that feels nourishing, flexible, and joyful.

I believe that recovery from disordered eating and the impacts of diet culture is possible and I’d be honored to walk alongside you through THE PINES in that journey.
