About

For four years, Clair Jones, MPH, RDN has dedicated her career to working with eating disorder clients across various levels of care. As a Registered Dietitian with a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree specializing in dietetics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Clair brings a strong foundation of knowledge and a compassionate approach to her practice. She also holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia.

Clair's philosophy is rooted in the Health at Every Size® (HAES) framework, and anti-diet perspectives. She is a firm believer that health can and should be pursued independently of weight loss, recognizing the often unsustainable nature of weight-focused approaches and their contraindication for individuals with eating disorders. Clair is also a passionate teacher of intuitive eating, guiding clients to reconnect with their inner wisdom about food and body, helping to quiet the noise of diet culture.

Clients often describe Clair's counseling style as upbeat and highly educational. She enjoys sharing the latest research, evidence-based strategies, and valuable resources to empower her clients with knowledge. A key focus of her work is identifying and amplifying each client's inherent motivations for change and recovery, understanding that a deep connection to their "why" fuels lasting progress. Clair also skillfully addresses practical barriers to change in areas related to overall health promotion, including essential life skills like grocery shopping, meal planning, cooking, sleep hygiene, finding and building community, and stress management.

Clair specializes in working with individuals experiencing Binge Eating Disorder (BED), Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder (OSFED), Bulimia Nervosa, and Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). Her special interests and experiences in the nutrition field also include:

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) with a history of disordered eating/ED

POTS and EDS

IBS and undiagnosed, chronic GI dysfunction

Patients with medical-related food trauma

Menopausal and post-menopausal women

Queer, trans, and LGBTQ+ patients with a history of disordered eating/ED

Neurodivergence

Reintegrating movement in a health-promoting and sustainable way

Clair's commitment to the field is further demonstrated by her specialized clinical internship in eating disorders at EDCare, where she began her dietetics career as a clinical dietitian. She continued her professional growth at The Emily Program and currently maintains her connection there as a PRN dietitian, alongside her private practice, Wild Oak Wellbeing. Clair is currently pursuing her Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS) certification and holds licenses to practice in Illinois, Minnesota, and Colorado - among other states.
