Cyan McFarlane MD, MPH, initially began their medical training in general surgery, but transferred to preventive medicine as they felt a calling to medicine which integrated public health into its core tenants of practice as they feel this is the most sustainable way to practice medicine for both the patients and providers. Their interest in nutrition evolved when they realized how little nutrition was incorporated into formal medical training, yet how important of a role it played in patients' health outcomes.

Cyan McFarlane, MD, MPH graduated from an international medical school, obtained an MPH from UNC at Chapel Hill, and is currently completing a MA online through the University of London in gender & sexuality in global politics. As medicine is not their only passion, Dr. McFarlane is also taking cinematography classes at UCLA.

In their spare time, Dr. McFarlane enjoys exploring new neighborhoods within Los Angeles, taking of care of their many foster pets, dissecting a film for its cinematography, and relaxing outside with a good book.
