About
Cynthia's interest in nutrition started with her own personal health journey. Growing up struggling with her weight, she made the decision in college to change, losing 80 pounds through sheer determination and not much nutrition help. That experience and her Biochemistry background led her to pursue nutrition as a career and a calling.
Her training in Medical Nutrition Therapy can support clients with a variety of conditions including weight management, diabetes, and general wellness. Cynthia has a particular passion for adult weight management because she understands firsthand how frustrating and confusing the process can feel and how transformative the right support can be.
Cynthia believes that all people deserve practical, judgment-free nutritional care that honors their real life. She practices with a warm but accountable approach, meeting every client where they are. Having spent years working with diverse communities and food insecure populations, she developed a deep appreciation for the real world barriers people face around food including budget, access, time, and family dynamics. That work also deepened something already personal to her. As someone with Southern and Puerto Rican roots herself, she knows firsthand that cultural foods and traditions are not barriers to good nutrition but an important part of it, and she works with clients to build healthy habits that feel natural within their own lives and backgrounds.
Cynthia graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Oakwood University and completed her Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition and Integrative Health from Maryland University of Integrative Health.
Outside of work, Cynthia loves traveling, music, and good deep conversations. She is also a proud dog mom to her pup Aiden.
