About Me
Hello, I’m David!
My journey into the field of nutrition started years ago when I decided to start making changes to my own eating habits. After a lifetime of eating a standard American diet, and more than a decade of physical inactivity, I started to feel the consequences of what was happening to my body. At that point, my energy levels were at an all-time low, my sleeping patterns were off, and I wasn’t that excited about life in general.
I knew that something had to change, so I began to focus on eating healthier and increasing my physical activity. To my amazement, life started to change quickly and in a powerful way. My mood improved, my energy levels shot through the roof, and I was feeling better than I ever had in my life. In fact, over the coming months I went from completely sedentary on my couch, to walking, then jogging, then running, then to, unbelievably, signing up for my first triathlon.
I was so blown away by how different my life had become that I enrolled back in college to pursue my master’s degree in nutritional science and become a registered dietitian. I felt like I had found the secret to life and just had to share the knowledge with the rest of the world to help others feel their best.
Having made this dramatic transformation with my own diet and physical activity, I completely understand the challenges, barriers, and pitfalls, and can help you to overcome all of them to reach every single one of your wellness goals. I am also well aware that it is often not about the food itself, but more about our thoughts, feelings, and emotions that have helped to create some hard to shake habits. I am a big believer that things need to be enjoyable to be sustainable and like to focus on fun and positivity with my clients. The more joy and happiness we are experiencing, the more likely we are to stick with something, and the more likely we are to live out our dreams.
In the last decade, I have been fortunate to work in a variety of incredible settings and learn from some of the brightest minds in the nutrition space. I am regularly asked to guest lecture to train and educate doctors on a variety of nutrition topics. I have been hired to create and implement nutrition programs for companies and have traveled as far as Asia to do so. In addition, the United States Federal Court system has used my nutrition expertise in matters inside the court room. These experiences and many others have made me both a better person and a better dietitian, and have positioned me to help you at the very highest level.
In my spare time, I enjoy being active outdoors with my wife and daughter. We can regularly be found roller skating, riding bikes, playing tennis, or at the beach. I am a big fan of many types of music and play both guitar and piano as often as I can.
I love working with clients, whether it’s cooking together, doing something physical, grocery shopping, or helping them overcome certain fears about food. It is so rewarding to see the light come on in someone and watch their life truly change. I am extremely grateful that so many people have asked me to be there with them as they rewrite their story, and I look forward to meeting you soon!
