About Me
Elizabeth's (who prefers to be called Liz) interest in nutrition started without her knowing it. She has always been involved with cooking and knowledge of food as she grew up with severe food allergies. Over the years, nutrition continued to be part of her lifestyle, from being an athlete to family members afflicted with chronic diseases that required dietary adjustments for management.
Since becoming a Dietitian, Liz has worked mainly in the acute care realm, gaining experience with Medical Nutrition Therapy in a range of topics including but not limited to GI, heart health, kidney disease, and more.
However, in experience working in outpatient, Liz has found that her passion lies in spending time building relationships with working with clients to help them achieve their health goals.
Liz has had a long journey to become a Dietitian, driven by her passion. Knowing that she wanted to help the general population and work with people, she first graduated from University of Connecticut in 2011 with a degree in Anthropology and Art History. She later returned to school and decided to focus on Nutrition as it became clear that this was her path. She completed her bachelor with a focus in Nutrition with University of New Haven in 2017 and then dietetic internship in 2021. She finally finished her education journey in 2022 with Master of Healthcare Administration, also from University of New Haven.
While going to school, she has worn many hats in healthcare and the food service industry: certified nursing assistant, therapeutic recreation assistant, waitress, bartender and food service manager. She now uses all of this experience and education to creatively help her clients achieve their health goals.
Liz is an avid reader of all genres, loves spending time at home with her two cats and chameleon, and can be caught playing billiards some nights of the week.
