About Me
Having conducted research at Baylor College of Medicine on how nutrition can influence our gene expression, I have seen first-hand the importance of tailoring dietary plans to fit your individual health history, needs, lifestyle, and even flavor preferences! Eating healthy should be enjoyable, maintainable, and sustainable for lifelong success. After clinical experience at one of the top 1% acute care hospitals in the nation, Baylor St. Luke’s Hospital, I have seen the importance of life-saving acute care, preventative, and sustainable dietary changes.
Before I became a dietitian, I created a balanced, unrestrictive meal plan for a close family member. They followed it and lost 22% of their body weight in 6 months, and their average blood sugar from their type 2 diabetes changed drastically to within normal limits. They had normal-level blood sugar readings, more energy, more mobility, and did not have to take any diabetes medication.
We all have different fingerprints and genetics, so I believe no two dietary patterns should be exactly alike. I ask you what your goals are, and we work together with those in the forefront to achieve long-lasting success. My approach is not to move a mountain in a day, but rather to make small, achievable goals over time in order for healthy habits to stick to create a mindset shift towards healthy eating that is enjoyable, realistic, and lasts!
