About Me
I had an interest in nutrition beginning as a teenager, which became a career path for me when I took an Intro to Nutrition class while taking classes at my local community college. I then completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees in nutrition at Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA. I then completed a one-year internship in various settings including clinical nutrition roles at a hospital, a dialysis clinic and long-term care facilities, a community nutrition role at my local WIC, and school nutrition at two local schools. I then began my career as a dietitian in an outpatient RD role for several years providing general nutrition counseling and medical nutrition therapy. After my children were born I transitioned to roles in long-term care and my ongoing role at my children's school overseeing the lunch program.
I have worked with clients of all age groups and a wide array of nutrition concerns. I enjoy establishing a relationship with my clients and love to give them strategies, education and the support to achieve their goals. I worked with many patients on various types of weight loss journeys, including utilizing medication or surgery. I love to work with clients for disease prevention or chronic disease management to promote the best quality of life possible.
In my personal life most of my time is spent with my 3 young children. When I have free time I love to read, I enjoy baking and cooking. Living in the Pacific Northwest my family loves to camp and travel to the beach
