About Me
Before becoming a dietitian, Fred Durso spent years as a journalist—interviewing people, helping them share their stories, and learning how to truly listen. That same skill now defines his approach to nutrition care: attentive, curious, and deeply compassionate. Whether someone is navigating a chronic condition or simply wants to feel better in their body, Fred meets them with empathy and evidence-based guidance.
A graduate of Framingham State University’s Coordinated Program in Dietetics (M.S. in Food and Nutrition) and Rutgers University (B.A. in Journalism and Media Studies), Fred brings a unique blend of communication and clinical insight to his work. He blends medical nutrition therapy with practical counseling strategies, helping clients create sustainable changes through small, meaningful steps. Fred is especially passionate about weight management and mindful eating--supporting individuals who want to untangle the emotions around food. He also works with clients managing chronic concerns like diabetes, heart health, IBS, and kidney disease.
Outside of sessions, Fred is a big fan of '80s music, weight training, and local adventures with his basset hound Lyla.
