About Me

Hi, I am Gray Shimko, a Registered Dietitian with a specialty in perimenopause and menopause nutrition and breast cancer. Additionally, I support clients with weight management/loss; cardiovascular health--hypertension, elevated triglycerides and cholesterol; pre-diabetes and diabetes; kidney disease; liver disease; gut health and digestive issues; food intolerances and allergies; and general overall health through nutrition.

With over a decade of experience in clinical nutrition, I specialize in translating nutrition science into practical strategies to support your health goals. I work with you to create lasting, positive health changes, and do not believe in crash diets or unrealistic restrictions. In our time together, we will review your health history, labs, and most importantly address any questions or concerns you may have. We partner together to develop creative and customized lifestyle plans, and we will work together on behavior changes to support your goals. I believe nutrition is only one aspect of health; thus, I also address stress management, sleep, physical activity, and mindfulness, as each play a role in overall health and longevity.

For my clients entering perimenopause or menopause, I specialize in understanding the hormone changes which take place, how these changes may lead to health risks, and how to utilize nutrition to help prevent these health risks. I am incredibly passionate about this phase of life and have worked with hundreds of women to address weight gain/fat redistribution, cardiovascular health, bone health, muscle building, and overall lifestyle changes to help them feel their best during this critical and often perplexing life transition.

I also specialize in supporting women with breast cancer, who struggle to find support around nutrition choices during each stage of their treatment path. I work with women before, during, and after treatment--chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, and hormonal therapy--each phase requiring a different focus and nutrition guidance.

I know with a diagnosis comes the desire to do everything in your control to reduce risk of recurrence, and this includes changing the way you eat and move your body.

Many of my clients complete therapy and are left with the question of 'Now what?'

It is my passion and my mission to empower you with research-based nutrition information, help you to understand the changes your body has undergone, and how to best support your healing and reduce recurrence through food and lifestyle changes.

Whether you were just diagnosed, in active treatment, are having or had surgery, completed treatment, or on hormonal therapy, I can help you.
