About Me

Jelena is a registered dietitian, with a masters of science degree in nutrition education from Montclair State University, a bachelor of science degree in dietetics from the same school, and a dietetic internship from Illinois State University. What makes her unique in this field is her own personal battle. The journey began when at fifteen years old one of her friends told her that she was getting fat. This is when the trust in your own body stops, and disordered eating begins, she says. That one comment was the beginning of her learning journey. At that time the first diet book was purchased, and the first step-aerobic class was joined. She had to learn that it’s not just what we eat, but also why and how we eat, as years went by. She became a personal trainer, and then a registered dietitian, a number of marathons was completed, and she participated in a few ironmans, including finishing Ironman World Championship in Hawai'i. Plus, the recent qualification and participation in Olympic Distance National Championships, show that the journey can continue at any time, anywhere you want, and your age is not a factor at all. Anyone can do anything they set their mind to. If Jelena could do it, so can anyone and she would love to help you get there. Everybody should be able to be at peace and trust their own body, enjoying any activity they set their mind to. Jelena is also fluent and can provide service in two other languages, Lithuanian and Russian.
