About Me
Joelle became a Registered Dietitian after growing up with a close family member that has Phenylketonuria (PKU), a rare metabolic disorder that is managed through diet. She learned the impact and importance of nutrition from this experience and set out to help others optimize diet and nutrition.
Joelle specializes in nutrition for Chronic Kidney Disease, End Stage Renal Disease, general wellness and weight management, plus all other topics listed.
Her mission is to simplify nutrition and help you make long term changes to avoid "yo-yo dieting." Everyone is busy so she strives to make nutrition convenient and stress free! Working with Joelle looks a little bit like this:
1. Getting to know you! No two people are the same, so you should never get the same nutrition recommendations as your neighbor. All education and recommendations will be tailored to YOU.
2. Evidence/science-based nutrition education and recommendations. She will meet you where you are at in terms of your baseline nutrition knowledge.
3. Deciding on long term goals and then breaking those down into realistic, shorter term goals or action items that you expand on each session until you've met your long term goals.
4. Feeling great and feeling confident in your nutrition choices.
Joelle received her B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Pittsburgh and completed her dietetic internship (supervised practice) through East Carolina University. Since then, she has gained 7+ years of experience as a Registered Dietitian.
In her personal time, she enjoys going to the beach, exploring the outdoors with her dog (huge dog lover!), trying new restaurants, taking or teaching ballet/dance classes and spending time with family/friends.
