About
John is a Registered Dietitian with over 5 years of professional experience and more than 14 years of personal experience with weight loss and long-term weight management. His passion for nutrition began with his own journey, during which he lost over 120 pounds and learned firsthand how challenging it can be to change eating habits, overcome plateaus, and maintain progress over time. That experience ultimately inspired him to become a Registered Dietitian and help others achieve lasting results without extreme diets or unrealistic expectations.
After earning his Bachelor of Science in Foods and Nutrition from San Diego State University, John completed his dietetic internship with a focus in clinical nutrition through The City University of New York, Lehman College. His experience spans both clinical nutrition and private practice, where he has helped clients with weight management, heart health, diabetes and blood sugar management, healthy aging, and overall well-being.
Successful weight loss and better health involve much more than simply knowing what foods are “healthy.” John takes the time to understand the habits, lifestyle, environment, and barriers that may be making change difficult. Rather than expecting perfection or asking clients to completely overhaul their lives, he focuses on realistic, sustainable changes that fit each person’s lifestyle, preferences, and goals.
Improving your nutrition also shouldn’t mean giving up the foods you love or putting your life on hold. John helps clients develop practical strategies for real-life situations, including eating out, social events, travel, busy schedules, cravings, and setbacks. His approach is supportive and judgment-free, with setbacks treated as opportunities to learn rather than failures. His goal is to give clients the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills they need to make progress they can maintain while still enjoying food and living their lives.
