About

My name is Katherine, (I also go by Katie) and I'm a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD for short).

I help people change their habits which is so amazing. I'm absolutely honored to do this work.

You're reading this right now because you're looking for someone to give you help you haven't gotten yet.

The world of nutrition is not an easy one to navigate. It's confusing and contradictory.

I work with many different people- some that have medical and health concerns needing specific dietary guidance, while others, like families may struggle with their little ones at the table. And often, many of us just desire to make nutrition or health a priority. Does that sound like you?

Our food and dietary decisions are complex and are very personal but there is no such thing as "one diet fits all". My approach to nutrition is individualized, and catered to your unique needs and your family's too. I aim to meet you where you're at so we can set realistic goals. Fad and quick fix diets don't work and they never will- I say this with confidence as research and years of these conversations confirm this. But it's out there, and many medical providers and professionals with good intent are confused too and perpetuate this very problem.

This nutrition approach uses an all foods fit process avoiding diet plans, rules, and frustrations over food. Being that all foods fit here, you don't need to give up your favorite foods in order to live well and have good health.

I am here to empower you with support, insight and specific guidance so that together we find your style of nourishment that works best for YOU and YOUR body.

We are so lucky to have so much health information at our disposal, but it can just as easily get diluted, confusing, sometimes unrealistic and even contradictory which I think is frustrating for anyone looking for answers. It's my job to translate nutrition research and health guidelines in a way that makes sense.

A bit about me- I originally began learning about nutrition in the university- earning my Bachelor's degree from Cal Poly Pomona in dietetics followed by internship to earn certification as a Registered Dietitian. I have since practiced under many specialties including weight management, wellness, prenatal health, pediatric and family dynamics as well as picky eating with both medical nutrition therapy training and outpatient counseling experience.

During my undergraduate, I was inspired to become a health expert and pursue certification in personal training through the NSCA. Even though I no longer practice fitness instruction or teach boot camp, my other passion in life is anything that allows me to move- dance, yoga and my first love which is weight training!

I am originally from sunny San Diego, California and now reside in Portland with my husband and 2 kids.
