About Me

My interest in nutrition began many years ago when I took my first nutrition course in college - I became instantly hooked on the science of it all. Over the years and throughout my career - especially working with clients who struggle with food anxiety and body image distress - my interest in nutrition has evolved into a quest to understand the psychology of eating and to look for ways to unravel the complex relationships we have with food and our bodies. What most of my clients are looking for is an easy and peaceful relationship with food - but are often experiencing the exact opposite of this. One of the great joys of my life is getting to support my clients - through individualized and personalized care - as they work through healing and strengthening these relationships. This can often look like recovering from years and years of fad dieting or struggling with chronic illness and health anxiety. I enjoy assisting my clients as they sift and wade through the nutrition misinformation that unfortunately abounds in our culture - debunking myths along the way - so that they may feel informed and empowered to make the best decisions for themselves. I believe it is our birthright to feel comfortable and at home in our own bodies.

I further believe that:

- Nervous system dysregulation underlies most of our food, digestive health, and body image concerns

- Everyone deserves agency, autonomy, and choice over how we care for our own bodies

- Flexibility and spontaneity around food and movement allows for more joy in life

- Wellness without obsession and preoccupation is possible

My areas of specialty include:

- Digestive health - especially as it intersects with disordered eating

- Recovery from chronic dieting

- Binge and Emotional Eating
