About Me

Paying it forward...it's been one of Kerin’s favorite phrases and concepts for most of her adult life; it is the driving force behind her professional redirection from Teacher to Personal Trainer to Clinical Nutritionist. Kerin’s passion for nutrition began years ago when she wanted to find root causes for her personal training clients’ chronic conditions. This desire to help others, coupled with a need to find a way to address her own physical limitations and autoimmune conditions, led to a search for a deeper understanding of the role nutrition plays in health and wellness.

Kerin’s training in Medical Nutrition Therapy equips her to support clients with a variety of conditions, including, but not limited to, diabetes and prediabetes, abnormal cholesterol/lipids, hormone imbalances, and GI issues such as reflux, GERD, and irritable bowel all with an eye on disease prevention and wellness.

Kerin has a particular passion for the areas of mental health and emotion/mood dysregulation; she has seen many individuals, inside and outside of her family, struggling with mental wellness receive standard medical treatments that simultaneously ignore the effects of nutrition on mental health and fail to address the root causes of the condition leaving the individual worse than they were when they initially sought care.

It is important to Kerin that everyone has access to quality nutritional care, without intimidation, embarrassment, or fear of judgement from their nutrition professional. She invites you to come share your story with someone who can empathize, potentially having firsthand experience working through similar issues or concerns and is indeed prepared to listen to you and HEAR your unique circumstances before working with you to create a plan forward.

Kerin graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education from Columbia College in SC and completed her Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition at Sonoran University of Health Sciences. She uses her background in education every day to tailor her coaching and client interactions in a way that best meets each person’s individual learning style.

Kerin’s happy place is the beach but when she can’t be there, she finds joy in time spent with her husband and three adult children when they are home. She loves animals, especially manatees, values staying active, and reads or watches TV when she has downtime.
