About

Kristin Schaefer (she/they) is a queer friendly licensed and certified functional nutritionist. She specializes in working with queer athletes who have disordered eating patterns. She has a bachelor's degree in anthropology and psychology, a master's degree in integrative nutrition and health, and is working on her PhD in clinical nutrition currently. She was a competitive cyclist and runner throughout her teens and battled different eating disorders and worked with nutritionists on how to improve my health and relationship with food. She is still a runner and slowly getting back into cycling, so she knows firsthand the barriers athletes face. She works primarily within the queer community, where she challenges binary beliefs and offers a non-judgmental, safe space for clients to be their authentic selves. In her practice, she uses nutritional, herbal, and lifestyle interventions to bring balance to our lives and address underlying issues with food.
