Laura lived in Alaska for 33 years where she raised her three children. She moved back to Alabama to offer support to her family and ailing father. In Alaska she hiked and climbed mountains all year long, even in the harshest of conditions. She loves serving God and sees her career as a precious gift in order to show love to others.

Laura owned a private practice specializing in eating disorder counseling and was considered the only outpatient dietitian in Alaska who provided this service. She earned an award entitled Top Forty under 40 for her exemplary work in the field of eating disorders. She was also a pioneer for being the first hospital in Alaska to implement Room Service meal delivery which increased patient satisfaction scores from 30-90% satisfied in the first 6 months of operation.

She has worked in every area of dietetics imaginable, however her heart truly lies in getting to know people on an intimate level and ushering them into a lifestyle of change.
