About
Laura’s interest in weight management grew from her work in primary care, where she saw how often weight, metabolic health, hormones, nutrition, and chronic conditions overlap. She has extensive experience caring for patients with obesity, diabetes and insulin resistance, PCOS, thyroid disorders, hypertension, and other metabolic conditions, including the use of GLP-1 medications. She also pursued additional training as a Functional Weight Loss Consultant to deepen her approach to sustainable, individualized weight management.
Laura believes that effective weight management should never be one-size-fits-all or focused solely on the number on the scale. She takes time to understand each patient’s health history, goals, challenges, and lifestyle and believes patients should understand the “why” behind their treatment. Her approach combines evidence-based medical care with realistic, sustainable changes, and she particularly enjoys helping patients recognize improvements in their health and quality of life that extend beyond weight alone.
Laura has worked in healthcare since 2007, beginning as a Certified Nursing Assistant before becoming an LPN, RN, and ultimately a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Associate of Science in Nursing from Prince George’s Community College, Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland Global Campus, and Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, from Chamberlain University.
