About

Maria is a bilingual registered dietitian who speaks Spanish fluently. Born in Nicaragua and raised in Miami, Florida, her passion for health and nutrition began early in life. Inspired by her mother’s battle with multiple chronic conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis and autoimmune disease, Maria was determined to learn how nutrition could improve quality of life—not only for her mother but for others facing similar challenges. This personal journey became the foundation of her career in dietetics.

Maria is trained in Medical Nutrition Therapy and supports clients with a wide range of health needs, including prediabetes and diabetes, cardiovascular disease, bariatric nutrition, weight management, and overall wellness and disease prevention. She also has a special interest in adolescent health, particularly in preventing obesity and promoting self-esteem in young people—a passion fueled by her role as a mother to three teenage daughters. Helping them embrace body confidence and make nourishing food choices is part of her daily mission.

Maria believes that everyone deserves compassionate, personalized nutrition care. Her approach is rooted in balance, cultural sensitivity, and helping each client find their own path to food freedom. She meets people where they are and works with them to build healthy, sustainable habits that align with their goals and values.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Florida International University and is credentialed by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Maria also has experience in long-term care and healthy aging, further broadening her ability to serve a variety of clients.

Outside of work, Maria cherishes quality time at home with her family. She sees cooking as an act of love and especially enjoys making homemade corn tortillas from scratch—a meaningful tradition that brings back fond memories of her grandmother in Nicaragua.

Maria is a devoted caregiver to her aging mother and finds balance through indoor exercise, trying new foods, and enjoying her favorite meals—like fried calamari or shrimp with a crisp side salad. She also has a deep love for fruits and vegetables.

Grounded in her faith, Maria draws strength from her spiritual beliefs. They inspire her to lead with compassion, maintain a grateful mindset, and wholeheartedly support and uplift her clients on their wellness journey.
