About Me

Marissa’s love for nutrition began during her teenage years, sparked by her own struggles with disordered eating, binge eating, and body image issues. Her personal journey led her to develop a passion for helping others break free from the exhausting cycle of dieting and build a balanced, sustainable relationship with food. If you're looking for a dietitian who will help you heal your relationship with food and support your overall well-being, Marissa’s your go-to gal!

Marissa is a dedicated Health at Every Size® (HAES) and non-diet dietitian who believes in providing compassionate, weight-inclusive care. She specializes in helping clients overcome binge eating, emotional eating, and chronic dieting. Her approach is all about guiding you to challenge the disordered eating habits that diet culture often teaches us and allowing you to enjoy the foods you love without stress or guilt. Many of her clients describe their sessions as “food therapy,” where they feel safe, supported, and empowered to explore their relationship with food in a positive, judgment-free space.

While Marissa’s focus is on helping clients build a better relationship with food, her training in Medical Nutrition Therapy also equips her to support clients dealing with conditions like digestive issues, diabetes, and heart health, all while prioritizing prevention and holistic wellness.

Marissa believes that everyone deserves personalized, respectful nutrition care. Her philosophy centers on a non-diet, intuitive eating framework, with an emphasis on mindfulness, self-compassion, and celebrating your unique needs. She loves helping clients find their own path to food freedom, without the pressure of restrictive rules or dieting.

Marissa earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Marshall University and completed her Master’s Degree there as well.

When she’s not working with clients, Marissa loves creating lifestyle and wellness content for her social media, diving into a good book on her Kindle, trying out new restaurants and breweries with her husband, and spending time with her four furry friends. Whether it’s traveling the world or cozying up on the couch, Marissa is always up for an adventure (especially if it involves friends and food)!
