About Me
Megan’s interest in nutrition began in high school when she first learned about agriculture and food systems in her AP Human Geography class. Her passion for the field deepened in 2019 after being diagnosed with hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, which led her to adopt a gluten-free diet to help manage her condition. This experience further motivated her to pursue a career in dietetics.
Megan earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Sciences and Toxicology–Dietetics from the University of California, Berkeley, and completed her dietetic internship at Emory University Hospital, the #1 hospital in Georgia. She also holds a Certificate in Integrative and Functional Nutrition from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Megan’s clinical background includes working as a dietitian in the cardiac ICU and general cardiology ward at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. She also gained experience in performance nutrition through an internship at the United States Naval Academy.
Her training in medical nutrition therapy allows her to support clients with a variety of conditions, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, thyroid disease, celiac disease, and preventive nutrition. As a former competitive athlete, Megan is also passionate about sports nutrition and helping active individuals fuel their performance.
Megan takes a holistic, all-foods-fit, and weight-neutral approach, meeting clients where they are in their nutrition journey. As a Japanese-American, she is committed to providing culturally competent care, thoughtfully incorporating patients' cultural foods into her recommendations.
In her free time, Megan is a gluten-free content creator—you can find her on Instagram @sayimafoodie. She also enjoys going to solidcore classes, exploring coffee shops and restaurants, reading, and punch needling.
