About
Dr. DeVisser's interest in nutrition started in medical school, where he served as a wellness representative and was a founding member of the Food as Medicine educational program. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and helps patients with a wide variety of conditions and backgrounds.
Drawing on his Emergency Medicine background, Dr. DeVisser takes particular interest in treating patients as a whole — across all aspects of their lives, not solely in the acute setting — a philosophy he lives by personally. He believes the foundation of overall health is often built at home, through daily lifestyle, good nutrition, and the prevention of chronic conditions.
Dr. DeVisser sees healthspan as a way to help patients achieve their long-term goals, values, and well-being. He is currently pursuing board certification through the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) and believes in an evidence-based approach.
Outside of medicine, Dr. DeVisser loves to kitesurf, sail, travel, visit museums, and hike with friends and family. He's a big dog and cat lover.
