About Me
Hi, I’m Niaz!
Growing up as a kid, fruits & vegetables were my only snack option to nosh on, and now as an adult my adventurous palate welcomes bold and diverse flavors. Eating healthfully isn’t about restriction, or sacrificing flavor—it’s about balance, creativity, and discovering delicious ways to nourish both body and soul. My love for wholesome food and passion for reinventing healthier versions of my favorite recipes shaped my journey in nutrition and ultimately led me to a career as a Registered Dietitian.
I firmly believe that a well-balanced and mindful nutrition is a powerful tool—not just for fueling our bodies but also as a preventative measure against various health conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure, gastrointestinal disorders, and more. Eating well can be deeply satisfying but yet healing, reinforcing the idea that nutritious food should be as enjoyable as it is beneficial."
After earning my Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition & Dietetics and completing my Dietetic Internship, I embarked on a fulfilling career spanning 15+ years at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, working with the adult population. As a seasoned Clinical Dietitian, I have guided patients through complex health challenges, including cancer, ALS, liver & kidney disease, PCOS, GI disorders, and nutrition support (TF & TPN) in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Recognizing the increasing prevalence of IBD, I pursued further expertise, earning a Certificate of Training in the Low FODMAP Diet for Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD) from Monash University. This certification has equipped me with the knowledge to provide evidence-based, personalized nutrition strategies for those managing digestive health conditions.
My approach to nutrition is simple yet impactful: each individual deserves a personalized, evidence-based plan that clears away the confusion and transforms science into practical, actionable steps. Seeing my patients thrive and reach their health goals is the most rewarding part of my work. I’m here to support and guide you at every stage, making tailored adjustments along the way to help you become the healthiest version of yourself.
When I’m not working with patients, you’ll find me in the kitchen, crafting nutritious meals for my family, or staying active—whether at the gym or enjoying nature walks. I recently started a weekly neighborhood walking group to encourage my community to prioritize movement in a fun and social way. It’s become more than just exercise—it’s a built-in support system that makes staying healthy enjoyable. And when it’s time to unwind, I cherish catching up with my girlfriends over a great cup of coffee, sharing laughter and good conversation.
