About
Nina Olsen, RDN, LD/CD, is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and founder of Metabolic RDs who helps individuals better understand their bodies, improve their metabolic health, and build a healthier relationship with nutrition.
Nina specializes in **diabetes and blood sugar management, weight concerns, gut health, heart health, women’s health, and sports and performance nutrition**. She works with individuals managing Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, gestational diabetes, PCOS, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, celiac disease, and other metabolic health concerns. She also provides nutrition support for individuals using weight-loss medications such as GLP-1s, helping them optimize nutrition, preserve lean muscle, manage side effects, and create sustainable habits alongside medication.
Her approach combines evidence-based medical nutrition therapy with a functional, whole-person perspective. Rather than focusing on a single number, symptom, or diagnosis, Nina considers the bigger picture—including blood sugar, digestion, cardiovascular health, body composition, movement, sleep, stress, and lifestyle—to develop an individualized plan.
With an extensive background in fitness and performance, Nina understands that health is about much more than the number on the scale. Before becoming a dietitian, she owned a CrossFit gym and worked as a Certified Personal Trainer and CrossFit Level 2 Coach. She also competed in figure and athletic competitions, earning IPL Pro Cards in both Figure and Athletic. Today, she brings that experience into her nutrition practice to help clients support strength, performance, healthy aging, body composition, and long-term metabolic health.
Nina believes nutrition should feel **clear, practical, and empowering—not restrictive or overwhelming**. She takes time to listen, explain the “why” behind her recommendations, and meet each person where they are. Whether someone is navigating diabetes, working toward weight loss, improving their gut or heart health, fueling athletic performance, or simply wanting to feel healthier, Nina’s goal is to provide a realistic plan that fits their life and gives them the tools and confidence to create lasting change.
