About

Dr. Rhonda Sparr, DNP, APRN, NP-C, has been passionate about weight management as an essential pillar of health since 2018. Her interest is both professional and deeply personal. After many years of dieting on and off, exercising to exhaustion, and experiencing repeated cycles of significant weight loss and regain, Dr. Rhonda came to understand that achieving a healthy weight requires much more than simply “eating less and moving more.” Her own journey inspired her to focus on sustainable, evidence-based approaches that support long-term health and well-being.

As an advanced practice nurse, Dr. Rhonda works with individuals experiencing weight gain and obesity, as well as health concerns that are often closely connected to metabolic health, including prediabetes, diabetes, PCOS, perimenopause and menopause, cardiovascular disease, fatty liver disease, osteopenia and osteoporosis, and the challenges associated with healthy aging. Her approach emphasizes not only treating existing concerns, but also restoring health, preventing disease, and helping patients improve their overall quality of life.

Dr. Rhonda believes that everyone deserves compassionate, individualized nutritional and weight-management care without judgment. Rather than focusing on restrictive diets, perfection, or a number on the scale, she partners with each patient to identify realistic changes that fit their individual lifestyle, health needs, and goals. She especially enjoys helping patients move away from the cycle of dieting and frustration and toward a healthier relationship with food, movement, and their bodies. For Dr. Rhonda, helping others achieve a healthier weight and improved health is especially meaningful because she understands firsthand how challenging that journey can be.

Dr. Rhonda earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas, in 2014. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing, with preparation as a Family Nurse Practitioner, from The University of Texas at El Paso.
