About
Carolyn Henao is a Certified Nutrition Specialist and Licensed Dietician Nutritionist who offers a mind-body-spirit & science approach to nutrition care.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Integrative Health from Maryland University of Integrative Health. She is also a certified Vinyasa Yoga Instructor. Her background allows her to blend behavioral insight with advanced clinical nutrition, creating a holistic and sustainable approach to health.
Her personal journey of healing her IBS-C and psoriasis through nutrition and lifestyle interventions deeply informs her practice, strengthening her belief in the body’s innate capacity to restore balance when supported appropriately.
Her practice is centered on a plant-forward, whole foods philosophy inspired by the principle of ahimsa (doing the least amount of harm possible). She integrates mindfulness, intuitive eating principles, and lifestyle support to help clients build a more peaceful and grounded relationship with food.
Drawing from both modern nutritional science and traditional healing wisdom, she works as a functional health guide—helping clients uncover root causes of imbalance rather than simply addressing symptoms. Her approach is compassionate, individualized, and designed to support long-term vitality, digestion, energy, and overall well-being.
