About
Hi, I’m Connie! I’m a Registered Dietitian with a Master of Dietetics & Nutrition and a Master of Science Education. I have earned board certifications in nutrition support and renal nutrition. With over 10 years of extensive experience working with people who have acute and chronic illnesses, I specialize in providing medical nutrition therapy (MNT). As a lifelong learner, I taught biology and chemistry for nearly 20 years before starting my career in nutrition. I easily bridge the gap between complex medical jargon & nutrition science into practical, achievable strategies for my clients.
I bring a unique blend of expertise that integrates evidence-based nutrition with tools to help uncover the root causes of health challenges. Only after addressing root causes can we effectively work towards a holistic and targeted approach to better health. My goal is to empower you with knowledge and foster a supportive and motivating atmosphere. You will feel heard, respected, and encouraged, and I will meet you where you are. I can collaborate with your physician as needed to optimize your health plan.
Outside of my work as an RD, I am a wife, mom to two adult sons, a standard poodle mom, and an avid gardener. I am an herbalist and am learning to grow and cultivate mushrooms for food. I often head to the mountains in western NC to learn from my brilliant herb and mushroom-growing mentors. I have found herbal therapies to be most effective in treating my osteoporosis and building stronger, denser bones.
I am driven by a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others. I love to teach, and I love to learn! I am here to help you uncover the root causes of nutrition-related illnesses and help you find solutions! Together, we’ll move beyond quick fixes and build a foundation of lifelong wellness. I invite you to work with me. Together, we can achieve your wellness goals and create lasting, positive change.
