About Me

Dennise's interest in nutrition started at a very young age, sparked by her grandfather's health journey. When her grandfather began hemodialysis treatment, Dennise was exposed to the significant role that nutrition plays in managing chronic health conditions and she became fascinated with the connection between food, health and wellness.

Her expertise in Medical Nutrition Therapy is rooted in her advanced training and extensive experience. With a master degree and over 20 years of dedication to the field, she has developed a profound understanding of the relationship between nutrition, health and disease. Her advanced training includes specialized education in clinical, nutrition, nutrition support, and medical nutrition therapy. She has also completed coursework in renal nutrition and is currently Board Certified as a Renal Nutrition Specialist and obtained a certification as Spanish-English Medical Interpreter, which has enabled her to bridge the gap and provide culturally sensitive care to a diverse patient population. This specialized training has allowed Dennise to effectively communicate with patients who may not speak English fluently, ensuring they receive accurate and comprehensive nutrition information.

Throughout her career, Dennise has worked in various clinical settings, including hospitals and outpatient clinics. She has collaborated with healthcare teams to develop and implement nutrition care plans for patients with a wide range of conditions, from diabetes and heart disease to cancer and gastrointestinal disorders, among others.

Dennise believes that everyone deserves access to accurate and personalized nutrition, tailored to their unique needs and health goals through compassionate and non-judgmental care, free from stigma and shame. She has a holistic approach to healthcare, addressing the interconnected physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of their being and promotes respect, dignity and kindness, regardless of background, culture or health status. Dennise is committed to providing care that is inclusive, equitable, and patient-centered. She believes that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard and valued, and that nutrition care should be tailored to meet the unique needs and circumstances of each individual.

During her spare time, Dennise enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. As a family they enjoy the outdoors and taking care of their dog Stella and two cats.
