About Me

Hello! My name is Devon, and I'm a registered dietitian based in Illinois. After realizing that food can most definitely affect your health (it all started with an episode of food poisoning on a trip to New York City...), I decided to study nutrition in college so that I could figure things out for myself and then help others with the knowledge and skills I'd gained. (Fun fact: During all 4 years of my undergrad nutrition degree, I played my clarinet in the university's symphonic wind band.) After my masters degree, I started working in a community hospital, where, in addition to my inpatient work, I had the privilege of counseling cardiac rehab patients. I realized there how much I enjoyed counseling; so after 8 years in the hospital I transitioned to nutrition counseling, and I love it! My goal is to help my patients make nutrition changes that are doable and sustainable as well as personalized based on their individual lifestyles.

And here's the formal biography:

Devon is an Illinois-based registered dietitian with a Masters degree in dietetics from Eastern Michigan University. Devon has been a dietitian for over 9 years, working for nearly 8 years in a local hospital as an inpatient clinical dietitian and in the hospital's outpatient cardiac rehab program. Devon's hospital-based experience allowed her to work with people who had a wide variety of medical issues, including weight concerns, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, heartburn/reflux, pancreatitis, diverticulitis, joint surgeries, gastrointestinal (GI) surgeries, G-tubes and J-tubes, and COPD. Devon transitioned to full time nutrition counseling in 2024 and has especially enjoyed bringing that experience into sessions to help people with managing their weight, cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels.
