About

Dela is a Registered Dietitian with a strong clinical background and a passion for helping individuals turn nutrition knowledge into sustainable, real-life change. She currently works in a rehabilitation hospital, supporting patients with complex medical needs including neurological injury, stroke, cardiac conditions, kidney disease, and gastrointestinal surgery. This experience has shaped her ability to provide evidence-based nutrition care that is both clinically sound and adaptable to each person’s unique circumstances.

Before becoming a dietitian, Dela earned a B.A. in Psychology and built a strong foundation in counseling. She gained experience working at a residential medical facility specialized in eating disorder recovery which cemented her passion for the intersection between mental health and nutrition. Over the years she's procured culinary work in an array of settings including a health-foods cafe specializing in gluten-free menu items and the kitchen at a rehabilitation hospital, among others. These diverse experiences inform her holistic approach to nutrition counseling, where understanding behavior, mindset, different eating patterns and lived experience is just as important as clinical expertise. She believes that while many people know what they should do for their health, meaningful change happens when they are supported with the 'how'.

In her work with clients, Dela focuses on meeting individuals where they are and building a collaborative, compassionate partnership. Her approach integrates evidence-based medical nutrition therapy with habit formation, behavioral strategies, and practical tools that fit into real life. She values helping clients develop confidence, autonomy, and a healthier relationship with food—without judgment or rigid rules.

Dela is especially passionate about providing structured yet flexible guidance, offering accountability, and helping clients navigate nutrition in a way that feels empowering rather than overwhelming. Whether working with complex medical conditions or supporting long-term behavior change, her goal is to help clients feel heard, supported, and capable of making changes that last.
