About Me
Jessica has a well-rounded background in the field of Dietetics. She started her career working in acute care where she gained a great deal of invaluable experience. During this time, she was exposed and educated on different disease states and their appropriate nutrition interventions. She then worked in the long-term care field, where she was able to develop her skills and knowledge base dealing with the elderly population. Following her time in long-term care, she worked as an outpatient dialysis dietitian, working with patients to help them make the best diet choices for issues like kidney failure, diabetes, heart disease, and others. She currently works full-time seeing clients in her own private practice – Nutrition That Heals, LLC – which she is honored to have under the Berry Street umbrella.
Jessica also has a passion for hormones and their relationship with nutrition. She was diagnosed with endometriosis in March 2022. Wanting to take control of her diagnosis, Jessica focused on her diet and started to learn even more about the importance of anti-inflammatory foods, proper hydration, and self-care. Being diagnosed motivated Jessica to control what she can: her diet and her message. She has begun to teach what she has learned along her journey, diet and otherwise, to others. She believes that everyone deserves nutritional care and practices with a HAES-informed approach. Food is not good or bad. Food is food and it should be nourishing. She enjoys helping every client find their individual path to food freedom.
Jessica recently graduated with her Master’s Degree in Nutritional Sciences from Oklahoma State University where she obtained advanced training in eating disorder care. Wanting to stay up to date and provide top-quality counseling to her clients, she is also a member of EDRD Pro.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé, new kitten, and golden retriever. She is an avid reader, enjoys spending quality time with friends, and cooking.
