About

Mary’s interest in nutrition stemmed from an early desire to understand how what you eat impacts your health. She wanted to know why her teachers said that hamburgers cause heart disease in 4th grade and why her doctor told her to drink ice water to lose weight at 16. (For the record – she still doesn’t know why that was recommended to her). Like many, she experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to separate evidence-based guidance from misinformation. Through extensive training in Medical Nutrition Therapy and over five years of experience in acute care, Mary has developed a strong ability to translate complex nutrition science into clear, practical recommendations. Her approach is rooted in evidence, while remaining realistic and sustainable for everyday life. She works with a wide range of conditions, helping clients feel confident in their nutrition choices without feeling overwhelmed.

Mary has a particular passion for working with oncology patients as she has worked as both an outpatient and inpatient oncology dietitian throughout her career. In this space, she has seen how frequently patients are exposed to the wildest nutrition misinformation by the internet, well-meaning individuals, and even other providers. Her goal is to provide clarity, reduce fear around food during treatment, and help her clients feel as nourished, strong, and supported as possible.

Mary graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition & Food Science from Georgia Southern University and has a Master of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics from the University of North Florida.

Outside of work Mary enjoys travelling to new places, spending time outside (usually at the beach or her garden), and perfecting her espresso-making skills.
