About Me

Tradena, "Dena," has been in the food service, nutrition, health, wellness, and education industries for over a decade. She holds a Bachelor's in Health Sciences – Health Educator from Trident University International and a Bachelor's and Master of Science in Dietetics from D'Youville University. She completed her supervised practice in inpatient and outpatient settings at 11 sites for infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. During this time, she founded Let's Get Cooking, a nutrition and cooking class for the diabetes management program at Jericho Road Family Practice in Buffalo, NY. Then, she assisted dietitians in the renal and stroke wards and developed and implemented Make Every Meal Count at King's College Hospital in London, England. She also assisted in developing and teaching weight loss classes for Independent Health Foundation.

Dena provides medical nutrition therapy to clients who reside in New York, New Jersey, California, Virginia, and many more. She is an Army veteran and Doctor of Philosophy in Developmental Psychology candidate at Capella University. Her mission as a registered dietitian nutritionist is to influence the lives of as many people as possible positively. She is very passionate about serving underrepresented and minority communities. Dena grew up in an underserved community and often sees herself or loved ones in people who live there. On a more personal level, she sells products on several e-commerce platforms and is publishing her first non-fiction book about body positivity and weight inclusivity. She loves reading, conducting research, listening to all kinds of music (especially gospel and alternative), wire weaving jewelry, eating delicious food, and exploring cultures different from hers.
