About Me
My interest in nutrition started when I realized healthy foods were more than what helped keep you skinny. Nutrition can help every facet of your life and well-being. It can help with your mental health, physical performance, skin health, improve sleep, and the list goes on. Once I realized how powerful nutrition was, it motivated me to change my eating habits and made me want to share this knowledge with others.
I currently work in an Inpatient hospital setting specializing in cardiac nutrition. This ranges from heart failure to nutrition optimization pre and post-open heart surgery, to renal diet education. My other floor is a surgical unit with mostly gastrointestinal surgeries, and this can often result in nutrition support, whether that's enteral nutrition or parental nutrition.
My mission is to share my love of nutrition with others and help inspire them to make changes in their lives. Focusing on nutrition changes can be a self-empowering journey that allows people to take some control in their lives about their health and outcomes. My mom once told me "Those diseases are just things you get when you get older right?" and I want to help others, like I helped my mom, realize that a lot of diseases can be prevented through nutrition.
I have a master's Degree in dietetics from Ohio State University and an undergraduate degree in psychology from Kent State. These two degrees allow me to be uniquely positioned to help clients with behavioral change.
